I loved blogging and sharing my experience as Mrs.Illinois, so I am going to do my best to keep this family blog updated. This will be a wonderful way to share our lives in Alabama with our friends and family all over the world. Even Grandpa George in Papa New Guinea can see what we are up to! Now the goal is to get it caught up and going by the time everyone receives their Christmas cards and visits our family blog. Wish me luck!!
Although we were looking at the move to Alabama as a blessing and adventure we were saddened to leave our hometown, all of our family and friends. I love to entertain and host parties so what better way to leave Illinois than with a PARTY! We hosted a Bar-be-que complete with a spiderman jump, snow cones, and lots and lots of kids!!! Even though the rain did come and move the festivities into the garage, we soooo enjoyed our evening with our close friends and family....Thank goodness we had cleaned the garage. Thanks to everyone that attended, we really appreciated having you there!
This was the side yard at our home in Illinois. In the distance you can see the spiderman jump. The kids had a great time and were so well behaved. When the rain did come that just added to their fun. They ran all around the yard, climbed all over the playset, and of course...got WET!
Our family photo with the "Sweet Home Alabama" cake. When I was 31/2 yrs old my family moved to Oklahoma. Throughout my childhood I remember looking at a photo of the cake made for my parents as they departed on their big adventure. It was only fitting that we do the same. Thanks Steph for taking this so I could be in the photo too.
