EASTER 2010

We had beautiful weather for Easter! That's one of the best things about Alamaba, the mild weather. We didn't end up going to church since Max was teething and feeling fussy at times. Luckily, I was off work that day so at least we could spend it together.

MAX'S FIRST MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM

By Easter weekend Max was easily crawling everywhere and starting to pull up to everything; however, we were still adjusting. After all, this burst of activity took about a week to unfold. He had a functional crawl on Sunday and 4 days later he was pulling up to stuff. So Easter was fun because he thought he needed to help with EVERYTHING on the floor. The changing supplies basket was left on the floor and he had his first opportunity to have a little fun.

All decked out in his Easter bunny sleeper and shaking powder on the rug. I can just see his sweet little face proudly saying "Mom, look what I did!".

Yeah baby, if you turn the powder upside down it comes out.

TRIP TO ILLINOIS

We celebrated an early Easter and it was also Jackson's birthday weekend so there was some cake involved too. It was chilly, but not as blustery and cold as last year. Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Jackson with another Super Mario Brothers cake...one last year at his party here, one at Grandma's this year...are we seeing a trend?

FAMILY BIRTHDAY

Since Jackson had a regular cake at his party and was having one at his Grandma Rinehart's we opted for a different cake at home. He loves strawberries and the pre-made strawberry shortcake was just the ticket. He loves lighting his own candles!

He was very proud of his first wallet. Joe picked it out for him and he loved it. Still carries it everywhere.

We had to take the traditional photo with the gifts at home. I can remember being a kid and coming home to my wrapped birthday gifts. It just makes you feel so special that your family took the time to wrap your gifts and make a big deal about your birthday. I want my children to have that excitement and anticipation for their special day.

HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY JACKSON!!

This year for Jackson's birthday he wanted to have it at Forest Jumps. He picked Baukugan for his cake and invited the boys in his class. We also let him have a friend sleep-over the night before the party. Mason is such a well behaved little man. He can stay over anytime! I can't believe my baby is 9 years old. The years will only pickup speed from here on out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKSON!!

PLAYIN' IN THE BIG GYM

Each basketball season 3 teams are chosen to play a shorten game during the high school boys basketball game. This year Jackson's team was one of those chosen. I think we may have been more excited than he was about the game. We just love the game of basketball and the atmosphere; however, like everything else down here it was a different experience. At home there is an element of excitement and energy in the air. The cheerleaders are top notch and really get the crowd going along with a big lead into the basketball team emerging from the locker room ready for a fight. Yeah, not so much down here. I guess they save all of their energy for football, which is really a shame. Muscle Shoals had a great basketball team this year with one of the players signed to LSU. Just another difference....

Since we were there to play for the Muscle Shoals Parks and Rec Dept we had great seats.

Our all-star player!!

Deep in concentration and ready to make the play.
