BEING ONE IS SO MUCH FUN

Max loves his bath! He always gets excited when we say "are you ready for your bath". He will play until the water gets cool.

Enjoying some of his fun birthday toys.

He seems to really like it; after all, there is a dvd player to watch when needed.

Now that Max is one year old we can turn his carseat to front-facing. Yeah!

MORE PARTY PICS

Mmmm, a shrimp boil complete with cornbread made from scratch.

The morning after the party Bay and Max were playing with the decorations.

Just a few of the friends and family helping us celebrate Max's birthday.

SMASH CAKE CRAZINESS

Before.......

and after!

Max really knows how to dig into a cake!

Look it's all over my hand...hey, this is kinda cool!

What a cutie!

LET'S PARTY!

Max received lots of wonderful gifts. He was given lots of clothes and some awesome toys.

Max and Bay playing in the tissue from the gifts.

Max is always on the move and usually very fast.

A special cake to celebrate the first birthday of a very special boy.

Uncle Wes did a great job of inflating the balloons and then decorating the front stairway with lots of bunches. Way to go Wes!
Cake anyone?

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY MAX!

He had a wonderful time with his smash cake.

Good Morning Birthday Boy!

How nice, you're sharing your cake with me.

Make a wish and blow out the candle. You don't ever want to waste a wish...you only get one a year.

Daddy left for work just a little later so that he could help start the big day for Max and the family.

PRECIOUS PIC OF MAX

Mommy's little helper loves to use the mixer.

My two guys are great!

GORGEOUS!

A VISIT WITH ANJI

I had not been to visit my bestie Anji since the summer of 2008. I did see her briefly at the Mrs. IL AM pageant in 2009, when she won, but we didn't get much time to visit. A few days of talking, eating and shopping was long overdue. Thanks so much to she and her family for giving me a warm and welcoming home away from home in the Chicago area. Now, she just needs to get down to Alabama!!
Anji and I before I left to go back home.

Chosen Sisters and Mrs.Illinois America Sisters we are so blessed!

It was wonderful to see and catch up with Kristin Melton. She was so sweet and visited me in Alabama on her way to Clay Spann in 2009. She has become such a great friend! She looks as gorgeous as ever!

DONATING TO PANTENE BEAUTIFUL LENGTHS

I have always wanted to cut and donate my hair for a "greater" cause. Locks of Love require 10 inches, which I did not want to go that short so that was not an option. I did a little research and found that Pantene Beautiful Lengths accepts 8 inches of hair. It is donated to make wigs that benefit women with cancer through the American Cancer Society. So I found a hairstylist, picked a cut and forged ahead.
The finished product.

The hair I cut and donated.

And it's off!

There's no turning back now....

Here is the photo of my hair right before I had it cut.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS CHANGING

The view is changing across the street. Bay and Jackson are getting such a kick out of watching the house as it is being built.
